Hello and welcome!

It was over 10 years ago that I began my journey into the world of children's education. After I graduated from university with a degree in engineering of all subjects I made the trip to Japan that I had been so wanting to take. What originally was going to only be a two year stay turned into 10 years! I was going to Japan to not only live in a new and exciting country but also to improve my Japanese language skills. Taking a job as a language instructor, I at first taught mainly only adults. While I did find this rewarding the few children's classes that I taught I found to be so much fun.

Over the years I decided to start developing my own materials for class, at this point I was teaching children's classes exclusively. One day a friend of mine told me about a new thing called YouTube, I decided to try and adapt one of my lessons into a video. After a while, I started making more and more videos to use in my classes and share on the Internet. Of course, we all know what happened to YouTube, it is now a household name!

I no longer live in Japan, and now make my home in Vancouver, Canada, but I still continue to make videos and songs. This website is the culmination of all those years spent teaching so many youngsters. I continue to be gratified by all the feedback I receive from people who watch my videos with their children on YouTube. And all of the people who use my DVD and CD at home and in the classroom.

Also, if you have a chance please check out my new ABC book, "David Martin's ABC: Z is for zebra". It has been so exciting to see children's eyes light up when I do readings at schools. The laughs and giggles put a smile on my face that just never goes away. Children having fun and learning at the same time should be the goal of any educator of small children... well, shouldn't that be the goal for everybody?

I want to thank you again for taking the time to look through this website.

"Keep it fun!"

David "Osaka" Martin

"One of the greatest joys in a teacher's or parent's life is seeing the faces of their children light up when they learn something new...when they really think they are just playing! "
